About 6 years ago I was sitting in a nail salon. I didn’t pay much attention to the music they were playing. But some lyrics held my attention. I heard: “I was born with a suitcase in my hand.” That is all I have ever remembered. (“I’m with the Band” by Little Big Town)
As I reflected on my life, there was some truth to those lyrics. My mother’s motto was: “Ya gotta go to know.” And that we did. Travel provided us with experiences in the United States that we would never learn in a textbook.
As I became an adult and traveled on my own, I experienced other cultures, lifestyles, and environments. Travel continues to be an integral part of my life. My travels have taken me to:
